What we did at school today...

by Danielle
(Gosford)

A great way to inform parents about what is happening in the classroom is to set up at board named "What we did at school today..." Take photo's during the day and display them for the parents to see when they pick up the children from school.

It's a great way for parents to be more involved and kept informed, as well as encourage discussion between parents and children about what they do in school.

Would also be a great way to motivate children. It doesn't take too long to take photos with a digital camera (would obviously need to get approval from parents/school first) and then print them off.

Addition to your great idea.

This is a great idea. Another way of doing that is to download the photos onto a computer and set up a slide show - this will save on printing and paper. You could also do it at the end of the week. What we did at school this week...

I do this too
by: Anonymous

I have a whiteboard stuck on my door and we list the things we've done during the day. I also have a column in my weekly newsletter where I highlight the things we did during the week. Our maths topic, writing focus etc. This allows parents to follow up at home if they wish to.
