VoiceThread

We are using VoiceThread with Kindergarten and Grade 1.
Here's one that Kindergarten created after a visit from Alison Lester:

This was completed as part of an ongoing storytelling unit.
In preparation for Alison's visit we had been sharing Alison's series of books - When Frank was Four, Rosie Sips Spiders etc. The children's drawings were part of a print big book we created following the same format as these books.
We digitised the individual drawings for the VoiceThread.
We are now working on a Grade 1 VoiceThread in which students talk about some of their favourite books. The children have chosen a book which they enjoyed reading and have completed a questionnaire about the title, author, illustrator, characters and setting, and the problem in the story.
They are sharing this information on VoiceThread and also telling us why they recommend their chosen book.
It has been a great exercise that clearly demonstrates the children's reading comprehension, writing and speaking skills.
