Talking Sticks

I have 32 kinder children in my class. I have 8 coloured 'talking' sticks in the "routine box" for the morning meeting.

Each day, 8 children have the chance to tell their news. When they are chosen to talk one 'talking' stick is handed to them, when they finish, the stick is put back in the box. When the sticks are all back in the box the news are over.

They accept it perfectly well. It gives a chance for all the children to share something, so shy children are encouraged to speak.
