Report Comments Help

Submitted by anonymous (cairns) (09-11-2012)

Hi everyone

With our reports looming, just wanting to know if any of you have some generic comments to be used for our kindy reports. I am such a fuzzy wuzzy warm person and have been finding it hard to write generic comments.

Check out Report Designer from Bigwave!
http://www.bigwave.com.au/reports/index.html

I found the link initially on the Australian Primary Principals Association website! I like it, even though most of the outcomes are Canadian based, they are fully adaptable to Australian, or simply type in your own! Set your class list, a few clicks and tada the program does it for you ready to cut and paste into word or online for editing! Costs approx $40 AUS and it?s yours to keep no semester subscriptions or licenses :)

Take a little to set up but I had maths comments for my entire class - written, edited and uploaded in less than 2hrs!

Hi,

I had a new supervisor this year, and he directed me to writing my reports in the following format-

4 paragraphs

Para 1- X is a lovely student who is very settled in class and works well with his peers. During semester 2 X has really enjoyed .....

Para 2- In literacy,......

Para 3- In mathematics.......

Para 4- X has worked well across all KLA's this semester, as shown by his pleasing results. I would encourage X to keep reading over the holidays to ensure a solid start to year 3 in 2011.

By following the standard proforma and checking my 'ticks' to pick a few things to comment on, reports have become very easy to write! Hope that helps!

Check out 'Report Robot' website . It does the thinking for you, sign on for 2 semesters for around $30, choose the outcomes you want, add your student's names to the proforma. Flexibility to change parts of the comment, cut and paste etc.

If you are a NSW teacher, you will be guided by the Stage outcome statements for your particular Stage level. These are available on the DET site. This way you will be directly addressing the outcomes which, hopefully, you will have been teaching throughout this year.If you are a K-2 teacher, you will also be able to use the Best Start data on your literacy and numeracy continuim charts which all DET schools should definitely have. When I retire !!! I will share all my personal type comments with everyone on this site..over the years you seem to generate some good ones that really hit the spot! Sorry, no time now...have to write reports.. ha ha.

If you do a search for educational report comments, you will get a list of sites from all over the world that provide a bank of these for all year levels and all subject levels. Hope this helps

There are various sites - put "Report comments" into Google and you will find heaps.

  • I was just thinking the other day that I needed some matching cards for numbers over 100 then today I came across the new parts of speech posters and thought I\'d check out the \"What\'s New\" section and there I found exactly what I had been wanting. Thank you so much for your wonderful resources. This is the first place I check when looking for resources and I\'ve been able to build a great collection since moving to the lower school grades last year. Thanks again!
