Olympic Games Theme Activities

Tie in Olympics with HSIE Unit "Celebrations" using China as the focus and look at how they in particular celebrate such things as New Year, Birthdays etc and the Olympics.

Art and Craft could include paper lanterns, dancing dragons, opera masks. Have a Mini Olympics with basic events such as paper plate disc throw, rubber ball or sand bag shot put, tunnel ball, captain ball, running races etc including medal ceremonies. Medals for each event can be also be made as a craft activity.
