  • GENERAL IDEAS FOR USING OUR NURSERY RHYMES, POEMS AND SONGS HERE

  • VIEW HOW OTHERS ARE USING THIS RESOURCE.. NURSERY RHYMES, POEMS AND SONGS PHOTO GALLERY

  • List all the reasons why we love our Mums - work in with our ' Thank You Mum / Mom ' Mother's Day concept book / card.

  • If the 3 verses are a bit long for real littlies - you can always skip the middle verse.

  • This Mother's Day poem could be copied or written into your Mother's Day cards or projects etc.

  • Print the A4 size for each child to pop into their nursery rhymes, poems and songs scrapbook - children 'play with the words, letters and sounds'

  • Print (bigger onto A3 if prefer), pop onto coloured backing card, laminate and add to your class 'Big Book of Nursery Rhymes, Poems and Songs' Collection...

  • Print (larger onto A3 if you like), laminate, and cut up ready for children to reconstruct - pop into your song / poem box

  • Don't forget to really make the most of these poems / songs and put your detective hats on to search for rhyming words, circle phonic sounds, play 'find the word' games, look for question marks and other structures, lots of 'playing with words' - it's great fun to find all the word/letter patterns in poems and nursery rhymes.

  • I believe with report writing, it's important to not generalise or be too 'flowery' in the comments. As a parent, I appreciate knowing which skills/areas my children need strengthening in. So as a rule of thumb - when it comes to report writing - I always start with a positive, then I mention an area that the student needs further development in and then I finish off on a high with another positive. Works a treat!

  • Great site. I downloaded lots of resources when I taught year 1. However, I cannot find much for Year 3 and I was looking forward to it. Could you please upload more for stage 2. Thanks

  • There are about 11 or 12 spelling choices for the speech sound sssss, so look at the THRASS resource chart. Not all there. It has left my child bored, and being told to learn the charts which still don't help him to spell the words he wants to spell, and is always being told its a catchall. A thumbs down for me too. Ken
