Add some Chinese cultural influence to your Olympics lessons...

Learn the stance for Kung Fu - horse, tiger claw, snake, crane, mantis.

Learn some origami.

Make Chinese lanterns.

Talk about the terracota soldiers - make some from clay.

Make a chinese meal and eat it using chopsticks.

Learn some calligraphy.

Ask a Chinese parent to come and talk about their culture.

Learn some simple Chinese words and write some symbols.

View some Chinese watercolour paintings - children use watercolours to do a Chinese painting.

Chinese theme unit

My preschool children are enjoying making a chinese dragon. We started with a big box for a head and have decorated it colourfully. when it's finished we will watch some dragon dancers and then bring our own dragon to life.
