Learners for Life
A nice way to set the tone in your classroom.
This picture shows a display by new entrant children (5 year olds). Discussed that we are all on a learning journey and even teachers and parents are always learning.
License plates are the initials and age of the child. The 'cans' hanging out the back are made from cut down lunch wrap tubes, painted silver by the children. We hung the cans because it suggests that our friends and family are celebrating with us as we set off on our learning journey.
I had them think of two describing words that fitted their character eg clever, funny, friendly, kind etc and wrote these in black marker onto the cans. The children were responsible for colouring and cutting out the cars, tracing their number plate with a white paint/PVA glue mixture in a squeeze bottle, painting the cans and the sun and grass for the background.
