Kindergarten Teacher - Christmas Around the World

I have taught kindergarten for four years, and each year we do Christmas Around the World. I have not run into any problems with parents or admin.

Last year we were able to cover six countries. Since there are six teachers in kindergarten we each became an expert in how one country celebrated Christmas, and visit the other classroom to teach that lesson.

The teacher prepares a craft activity for that lesson, and since it is part of our Social Studies Standards, I have not any issues.

Then the last day we discuss what each country/culture gave the US. I also have at least six centers set up for students to make a Christmas Craft to bring home. My students are the ones manning each center.

We also put on a Christmas/Winter Concert for the school and parents. Last year my class sang Rudolph, and we made Rudolph T-shirts, and painted their noses red.

I also do a Christmas Around the World Theme. I have may different nationalities represented in my classroom so I ask parents to come in and speak about their Christmas traditions. I always try to do a craft after learning about a country. I would love to hear about your crafts and centers for the different countries.
