Kindergarten Maths Game - Lesson Starter

Just a fun way to begin a numbers lesson with your class. I teach kindergarten and they like a challenge.
Have children turn their chairs around to face their desks, place heads on desk, we have pillows. Their hands are placed behind their backs and the teacher tells the children that the postman is coming.
Teacher quietly walks around between the children and randomly places a numeral card in some of the children's hands. When all 10 cards are given out the teacher calls out "postman's been".
The children who are given a numeral card come out the front of the room and try to sequence the cards in numerical order.
It is interesting to see if children recognise their number and who emerges from the group to assist the rest of the children in sequencing the numerals from 1 to 10.
