K-3 Homework Ideas Site Link

by Donna
(K-3 Teacher Resources)

Just popping this homework link in just in case you missed it in our last Newsletter.

http://www.teachersnetwork.org/dcs/homeworkhotline/intro/directory.htm

There are some really different ways to approach homework for K-3 here.

I really like the way they have incorporated everyday family life and educational experience into the activities

Well worth a look.....

Another great idea for homework is to use one of our  'Concept Books' for the weekly homework task.   The children can then share their book on Friday during a 'Sharing Circle' session.

Have a Happy Day!

homework grid
by: penne

I have receptions this year so the only "homework" they get is their reader and sight words. As we do these in class everyday it is a bonus if they are done at home as well. For other year levels I use Ian Lillico's homework grid. He recommends making reading and housework compulsory and then everything else can be adjusted to suit the children's home life and their ability. It is brilliant and I have had lots of positive comments from parents about how easy it makes homework. You can get it at his website "boysforward". It is well worth a look!!
