Submitted by Roseanne
Just thought it would be good to have Nursery Rhyme Sight Words (as it is a part of the Australian Curriculum)

Sequencing Pictures Suggestion
Submitted by Julie
I would live to have a collection of daily activities type sequencing pictures, such as getting up in the morning, making breakfast, eating an apple or dinner, going down a slide, building with blocks etc. and also a set for nursery rhymes.

One of the best ways to find children\'s strengths is to ask the other children. If you play the \"hot seat game\", where you ask the children to describe another, with no name given, just good things about them, you often learn all sorts of things that you didn\'t know were happening. Also I often get the child with a particular \"strength\" to go off and assist a buddy who needs help along those lines- makes for a very interesting conversation. After a while, everyone knows that ***** is good at blending, so they go and ask for help. Makes lots of smiles all over. what a clever woman you are to ask for strengths, when you yourself are feeling a little low. You need your own magic stick. It\'s one of those wands with glitter inside, when you shake it, you see the glitter feel happy and smile. Holding this stick many of my children have found the answer using the magic from the stick. Well done. Barbara.

If you have a Promethean whiteboard, join the Promethean Planet site (free). You can do some basic tutorials that show you how to use the tools, etc, and you can download thousands of free flipcharts that other teachers have created.

Get Smart from Copacabana P S is probably the best but also look at Studyladder. It has some great things that they allow teachers to use for free and the students to access 3 activities per day for free from home.
Try also teacherled. It has great things like boggle and a whole lot of aids for teaching. Buzzers for spelling games etc Worth a good look.
Good luck.
Copacabana Public School has great organised resources:

A great resource for a range of activities including interactive whiteboards for early years.
Copacobana Public School has collated some great resources- just search for their name and look under 'Get Smart'.
Enjoy your Interactive Whiteboard. I've had one since 2008 and absolutely love it!
Hi, I have used this one, as I have just had one installed in my room mid-year. This site was also endorsed by the whiteboard company we used. A good start were the rolls and daily routine pages. The site has changed a bit since I've been on it, but there might be some good tutorials around about making changes to some of the downloads as well. I had to ask a fellow teacher how to do some basics, but as long as you are fairly tech savvy, you can figure out some basics and have a play over the school holidays!
Enjoy! http://www.seeshareshape.com.au/default.aspx
Check out "poisson rouge" (great for K/P),
"Study ladder", "starfall.com" and the "Harry kindergarten" songs on you tube.
