Hitachi Starboard

Hi
Has anyone got a Hitachi Starboard in their classroom? I have got one in my new classroom and I have had all my experience with smart boards. Are they very different? What are the pros and cons to the starboard? Any good websites I can get files from? (I have explored the official site already). Thanks so much for your thoughts :)

Hi there!
I have had one for the past three years and I love it!!! Although it is the only one I have used. We use the Starboard program a lot - for writing, images, modelling etc. There are lots of tools that I am still only finding on there to use! Easiteach is another great program that we use too for Interactive resources. It has print, images and sound.
For Online interactive resources I have taught lower years P-2 so we do alot of online interactive stories (TES Connect is great for this), and also programs like Studyladder which the children really enjoy for Maths tuning in activities.

  • I saw an interesting post on Pinterest the other day, showing a plastic, sandwich size, zip-lock bag that had had a piece of duct tape run along the base. The duct tape provided reinforcing that allowed holes to be punched through the bag for storage in a binder. I imagine you could run the tape down the side of larger zip-lock bags for a similar effect. This may not solve all your storage issues, but if there\'s just a few small games to go with a unit that\'s otherwise stored in a binder, it might help!
