Classroom Team Building Web - We Are All One

As an introduction activity, I get out a ball of string and ask the children to sit in a circle. I start off the game by introducing myself and telling the children one thing I like to do.

I then hold onto the end of the string and throw the remaining ball of string to a child (saying their name). They repeat their name and a hobby, then hold onto their bit of the string and throw the ball, and so on until we have made an amazing web. I did it with yr 2's - wouldn't go any younger due to the throwing/holding of string, but it is fantastic once you finish!

The kids brought it up a few times during the year, so we actually did it again at the end of the year which they loved.

A fantastic game to talk about the whole class working together - if one person lets go the team web starts to fall apart. If lots let go the team is in big trouble!
