Classroom Storage Gerber for all

by Nancy
(Yonkers, NY)

Need small resealable containers for little objects? Tap your new mothers who are feeding their 3-6 month olds baby food from those small plastic rectangular shaped gerber containers.

They come in two sizes and I've used them for holding dice and playing pieces, coins for money sorting activities, blank bingo chips that I've put numbers on for counting on activities etc.

They hold bingo cards, or small word cards for sentence building. What I like about them is that I can now pack away themed based activities with the items necessary right in their containers rather than in plastic baggies because I need the little whicker basket for another activity!

I hot glue gun a label on the top of each container with what is in it. (#s 1-15, shell matching) This idea has swept through our Montessori school and I like that the containers snap shut nicely, but not too tightly for 4-6 year olds to open with ease.
