Christmas Printables Theme Words - Suggestions for Use

  • IMMERSE YOUR CHILDREN IN WORDS...

  • GENERAL IDEAS FOR STORING AND USING THEME WORD CARDS

  • Use the words for examples of phonics - Match with Phonics Charts - 'ee' reindeer, greetings, tree / 'y' 'ey' turkey, donkey, Mary, holly, party, chimney, family, Merry, nativity / 'ar' cards, star, party / 'ing' greetings, pudding, giving, stockings

  • Make mini copies of these words for children to become 'word detectives' and play with the laminated words - circling, colouring phonics etc. These smaller sizes are great for cut and paste activities such as cutting out the words and pasting them in alphabetical order.

  • Use these words (either smaller words for gluing, or as a reference for their own writing) with the concept book - ' It must be Christmas '.

  • Play BINGO using these words as call cards for Christmas Bingo Game

  • Brainstorm more Christmas words to add to the list.

  • Print out the bright copies, glue them onto colourful backing card - laminate and display on Christmas bulletin boards. These are then ready for children to refer to during Christmas writing sessions.

  • Make a Christmas Alphabet Book using the template from ' My Alphabet Book ' - children place a Christmas word on each page.

  • You can make these words smaller size by using the reduction settings on your printer and just printing off black and white copies, these smaller sizes are great for cut and paste activities.

  • When not being used on a wall display, place them in labelled boxes, or hanging pockets for continued use and reference.

  • All the activities from '101 Fun Flashcard Activities' are fantastic with these Words ...... (DON'T FORGET TO UTILIZE THIS TERRIFIC RESOURCE EVERYDAY)

  • I was just thinking the other day that I needed some matching cards for numbers over 100 then today I came across the new parts of speech posters and thought I\'d check out the \"What\'s New\" section and there I found exactly what I had been wanting. Thank you so much for your wonderful resources. This is the first place I check when looking for resources and I\'ve been able to build a great collection since moving to the lower school grades last year. Thanks again!
