Bank Reward system

I remembered having this discipline strategy when I was in primary school and decided to give it a go with my year 3 students.
The idea is that children are rewarded for good behaviour by receiving money amounts that they would "deposit" into a personal rewards account...
To explain in more detail:
The teacher would reward positive behaviour by giving the child a dollar amount (its really up to you how much you want to reward 50c up to $5.00 or more for outstanding actions!)
At the end of the day, the children would deposit all of their amounts into their own individual cheque books and the total would accumulate.
Have a set price list of rewards that students can "buy" once they have enough money. For example, free time might cost $20.00 or computer time $30.00, work these rewards out with your children so that they are things they look forward to and want to do.
Also have the rewards ranging in prices so that children can choose when they would like to purchase a reward.
I hope that this explanation makes sense! it works really well in the class and the students love it!
The best things about this system is that the children take ownership of it and do it all themselves - and the bonus is that they are adding/subtracting and using money values: so educationally they are reinforcing skills that they have learned!!
