Ideas for Use

Back To School Spotty Range - Suggestions for Use

  • Have a SPOTTY BACK TO SCHOOL THEME DAY .... as children arrive, they find their spotty name tags and continue on with spotty activities as their parents leave (always tricky!!!)

  • 'CAN YOU SPOT YOUR NAME?': Pop this text on one of your spotty welcome signs (above) as children find their name tag.

  • Continue this spotty name theme by having a print out of each child's name on card (use just the font outline if you can) - children use either spotty pens (I think crayola have a range of these), or bingo pens, or coloured spotty stickers, to spot over the letters in their names.

  • Use these as a room display to start the year.

  • Have loads of coloured cut out spots all different sizes and colours for children to glue into interesting designs and pictures.

  • Make a favourite colour graph using spot stickers.

  • Have a pile of books available for children to find 'spots / circles' within the illustrations and pictures.

  • Another sign using template above...'Our Spot On Classroom Rules'

  • Start a class 'Spot On' hand signal (similar to high five / thumbs up) - make an 'o' with your index finger and thumb.

  • Continue the theme using the spotty stars to highlight a 'Our Spot On Superstar' each day / week etc.

  • Oh - the spotty ideas are bubbling - please share your SPOTTY ideas in the comments section below

  • I saw an interesting post on Pinterest the other day, showing a plastic, sandwich size, zip-lock bag that had had a piece of duct tape run along the base. The duct tape provided reinforcing that allowed holes to be punched through the bag for storage in a binder. I imagine you could run the tape down the side of larger zip-lock bags for a similar effect. This may not solve all your storage issues, but if there\'s just a few small games to go with a unit that\'s otherwise stored in a binder, it might help!

  • I was just thinking the other day that I needed some matching cards for numbers over 100 then today I came across the new parts of speech posters and thought I\'d check out the \"What\'s New\" section and there I found exactly what I had been wanting. Thank you so much for your wonderful resources. This is the first place I check when looking for resources and I\'ve been able to build a great collection since moving to the lower school grades last year. Thanks again!
