Alphabet letter formation collage

by Donna
(K-3 Teacher Resources)

Although it is important to follow consistent letter formation in the early years, it is also good for children to be exposed to other letter formations within their environment, such as in signs, books, computer etc.

Make a collage of letters. Make up a poster for each letter of the alphabet - children then cut and paste other representations of these letters from magazines, newspapers etc.

Makes an ideal literacy rotation group activity or early finisher activity. If your posters are left up - they can be added to through the term, or year.

Could also be used for phonic blends as well. Will pop this phonics idea on a separate phonics page...
