Welcome to the Holidays! - Both overseas and in Aussie. May has been HUGE for us. We have just finished transferring all of our Member downloads over to our main website - K-3 Teacher Resources. NEWS FLASH - We have now made it even easier to access your Member downloads. They are now all available from www.k-3teacherresources.com - no need to go to our separate members site. It is very easy - here is how it works...... 1. Click on Resource Category you would like in the navigation bar on the left of any page. 2. Browse and click on the resource you would like to download this will take you to the download links page. 3. Click on the yellow download links for that resource and a login box will come up, or you may already be logged in, in which case your download should come up automatically. (Alternatively, you can right click on the download link and save the file) More information HERE This was a HUGE project being extremely time consuming, but I am sure you will agree that it makes your browsing and accessing your downloads much easier, and more enjoyable, without having to flip from one site to the other. *Teaching Tip Time... Storage Idea....Using Yoghurt Container..... This is one of those areas that doesn't directly relate to children's learning, however, it can make a dramatic difference in Classroom Organisation, Routines, and Classroom Behaviour which in turn reflects in more positive learning outcomes. As the saying goes - 'A Place for Everything - and Everything's in it's Place' I saw this idea the other day and I love it.... Use washed yoghurt containers for terrific collage, and word cards storage. Grab a cheap packet of brown paper bags. Place a yoghurt container in one of the bags and glue around the outside, folding and gluing the top over and in. Now push a paper bag inside the yoghurt container, gluing it in as you go, folding and gluing over the top of the container. Now the trick is to put enough glue in and around so that the paper bag is firm everywhere so it will not get torn. The next trick is to then grab a square basket, or if you have access to a trolley or wooden boxes, place the containers inside these boxes / baskets so that they do not get knocked over and sit firmly. These can then be moved easily and securely as you need them. The size is perfect for small collage materials and absolutely absolutely SPOT ON PERFECT FOR OUR WORD CARDS / THEME WORDS / MATHS EQUATION CARDS STORAGE WITH THE LABEL ON THE FRONT. I saw this idea the other day and can't stop thinking about it's potential (yes, I know I need to get out more!!!!) It's cheap, you could use it as a project for the children to do, just ask all you parents to start keeping yoghurt containers. DO YOU HAVE SOME GREAT STORAGE IDEAS? - PLEASE SHARE THEM HERE

This is one of my favourite resources - it is such a fun little activity - each child just grabs a reading book and follows the questions - a great follow up to 'guided reading' or at Language Grouptime.
